Kevin Hamilton provides color commentary for The HSB Network for NY games. He has spent all his life involved with sports and particularly basketball. Kevin was a high school all-American in three sports basketball, football and track. He graduated from North Babylon High School on Long Island in 1976. Kevin earned a scholarship in basketball to Iona College playing for the late great Jim Valvano.  Kevin and his Iona team made the NCAA tournament three times in his four years.

Kevin was named to the East Region All-Star team in the NCAA tournament in 1980. Kevin was drafted by the Boston Celtics on their third pick of the draft behind Kevin McHale. Kevin’s career was cut short due to a serious elbow injury as a rookie. Kevin later went on to begin his professional career in sales. While in sales Kevin stayed in touch with the game by coaching for Southampton College on Long Island. Kevin lead the team to an appearance in the Division II NCAA tournament it’s first in 9 years. Kevin later began to coach high school basketball at Holy Cross in Queens.

Today Kevin continues to coach at Holy Cross for his fifth year. Kevin founded the New York City Jaguars AAU organization back in 1998. He has lead this organization into national prominence by fielding very competitive teams and averaging 8 scholarships per year from kids on his teams. Kevin is respected as one of the best coaches in AAU and has had many opportunities to return to college coaching. His heart is in the grassroots and he has remained at the high school level. Kevin is also considered one of the finest lecturers on the basketball circuit and is reknown for his knowledge of the game.
